The Right Reader

There’s a popular saying that  “readers are leaders”. I would rephrase this by saying, “reading the right books would help you to be the right leader”. It is good to read books, however, it is best to read the right books. A person preparing for a biology examination can’t lead in that exam if he or she reads law books. It is like using a drug prescribed for malaria to cure tuberculosis; that is obviously not going to cure tuberculosis. We have readers that are not reading rightly and it is really affecting them. Mind you, you should understand that reading other books is not totally wrong but you should set your priorities right. I am a writer, so I would read books that would help me become a better writer and improve daily but while I was in the university studying microbiology, I read my course books more than I read other books. A surgeon who is about to perform an operation would not read books that would not help him/ her or that are not related to the operation. In this year
