Maryjane 2
Last week we read the first chapter of Maryjane and today we will be reading the second one..... Enjoy...

“you can’t have a bastard in my house!!” these words kept on resounding in her ears as she walked in the dead of the night. It was not her fault she lost her dad even before she was born into the world, it wasn't her fault her mum had to re-marry and neither was it her fault that her mum married a monster in the form of a man. She had been telling her mum countless number of times about her stepfather but her mum had just decided to be deaf. After he turned her to his sex toy, sleeping with her anytime, anywhere and anyhow he wanted, she became pregnant the first time and he helped her to abort it. She would never believe her mum didn't know about it but her mum just decided to turn a blind eye to it, tee doctor had strictly warned them never to try to abort any child or it could lead to her untimely death so when she discovered she was pregnant again she made up her mind to keep her baby. Her mum tried to frustrate her life but no matter how hard she tried by making her go hungry for weeks or by making her do all the house chores, she refused to abort the baby. Apart from what the doctor said, she would never kill another child, the image of her first pregnancy tormented her day and night. She had promised herself never to try abortion ever again no matter what happens. She continued walking carrying the newborn in her hands, why was life so unfair to her, a fatherlesse child with a wicked mother who cared more for money than she cares for her daughter. Her mum gave birth to three other children for her stepfather but she loved them no more than she loved her, she said she was tired of living life for the sake of anybody and wanted to enjoy her life to the fullest no matter what anyone thought of her even if it meant living her life at the expense of her children. Thanks to her neighbor who helped her during the painful childbirth after her own mother neglected her to go for a party telling her to her face that she hoped the baby died. She delivered the child but she knew she couldn't keep the child in that sort of home so she was looking for a place to keep the child and hope that a person far better than her mum would find the child. She continued walking with tears in her eyes, “I'm so sorry baby, this isn't intentional….. if only I could keep you my dearest child. I would have kept you with everything I have but unfortunately, I can't baby. I hope I would be able to see you later on in life. I love you my baby” she said. She kissed the baby gently on the forehead and placed the baby inside the basket in her hands. She waited beside the baby for a while crying profusely , she heard the footsteps of a person and ran to the back of a tree, the baby was crying loudly but the person just passed the child without stopping to check the baby. She was vexed they showed no interest in her baby but she couldn't be angry at them because she felt more guilty than they were since she couldn't take care of her own baby. She removed the wristband on her wrist and went to her baby, she placed the wristband and a note on the child's body. The baby was crying and she felt like carrying her baby but she couldn't so she ran as fast as she could without looking back. She prayed quietly in her heart for God to send the best mother any child could pray for to her baby.

Hope you enjoyed it.... Please drop your comments...
