Mr. W. A. T. E. R

Mr.  W. A. T. E. R

Kay fidgeted as she walked into the doctor's office, "good morning Mrs. Dave" Dr. Ariyo greeted her, Kay stood at the door, "is he going to be okay?" she asked as tears dropped from her eyes, "please sit Mrs. Dave, your son is fine", Kay sat down and Dr.  Ariyo gave her a box of tissue, "I don't understand Doc. He wasn't sick......  I was so scared" she said and broke into tears, "he lacks care ma'am" the doctor said and Kay was surprised, "what do you mean Doctor, that I'm not taking care of my own son because if that's what you mean then you're mistaken. I make sure he takes a balanced diet, I bathe him twice everyday, I give him multivitamins, read him bed time stories, exercise often with him and I could go on and on without stopping today so what sort of care are you talking about?" she asked angrily, "calm down ma'am, you're right that you have been a caring mum to him but I was talking  the care from Mr. W. A. T. E. R", Kay looked confused, "I don't understand " she said, "your son is dehydrated and that's why he fainted. He needs to be taking water frequently", "water?" she asked, "yes ma'am, water... And I'll show you a chart to tell you the importance of water to life" the doctor said.

Washes away body wastes and toxins
Sufficient water intake enables your body to excrete waste through perspiration, urination, and defecation. The kidneys and liver use it to help flush out waste, as do your intestines. Water can also keep you from getting constipated by softening your stools and helping move the food you've eaten through your intestinal tract.

Aids in Digestion
Digestion starts with saliva, the basis of which is water. Digestion relies on enzymes that are found in saliva to help break down food and liquid and to dissolve minerals and other nutrients. Proper digestion makes minerals and nutrients more accessible to the body. Water is also necessary to help you digest soluble fiber. With the help of water, this fiber dissolves easily and benefits your bowel health by making well-formed, soft stools that are easy to pass.
Transportation of important nutrients and minerals
Water serves as a transporter and moves nutrients in the body from the point where they are manufactured to where they are needed.

Essential to the survival of living organisms
All living organisms(plants, animals, man) require water for a variety of things. To manufacture their food, as a habitat, to enable growth, for domestic purposes and a whole lot more.

Regulates body temperature
Our bodies can control over-heating through perspiration from sweat glands in the skin and from evaporation which produces a cooling effect. Blood is also routed into areas close to the surface of the skin where it can be cooled and then carried back to the interior of the body. Conversing in a cold environment, the skin maintains proper body temperature by shunting the blood away from the exterior surface thereby conserving heat within the body. The movement of water within our cellular systems also transports vital blood plasma which is 92% made of water. Blood plasma play a critical role in buffering the body’s pH, circulating antibodies from the immune system, and regulating osmotic balance which all helps to maintain proper body temperature.

Water is very important...... Take water as often as you can...... I remain Temiloluwa.... And please drop your comments and follow. Have a blessed day.
