The trials of Maryjane 5

Good morning readers....... Hope we had a great night?
This is the continuation of our wonderful series.......  The trials of Maryjane, enjoy.....

On getting home, Mary-Jane and Sammy were taken in an ambulance to the hospital where their mum was admitted, the nurse that took themn to the hospital escorted them to their mum's ward. Mary-Jane and Sammy were quiet throughout the journey, the nurse was surprised because she had expected them to ask her a lot of questions about their mum but they didn't. She opened the door for them and immediately they saw their mum, the both of them broke into tears, “don't cry my babies” Rachel Adams said gently, her voice was weak, she was looking so pale and her face was white. Rachel Adam sat up, “come… come and sit by me” she said, Mary-Jane and Sammy sat by her side, “I thought I could fight it without having to make you cry but I guess I couldn't…. you know I've been very sick for some months now and I know it has affected you both especially you, Mary-Jane “ Rachel paused and coughed loudly, “sorry mum” Mary-Jane said, “thanks, the thing is….. I am very sick and few months ago, I was diagnosed and the doctor said I have breast cancer”, Rachel coughed again for a long time while Mary-Jane remembered what Lucy said, she felt so weak to cry so she patted her mum, “should I get you water mum?” she asked, “yes dear” Rachel replied, Mary-Jane went to the dispenser in the room and fetched water into a cup for her mum, her body was shaking because she was scared of what her mum was going to say, she gave the water to her mum who drank it slowly, “thanks dear” Rachel sighed deeply and continued, “my babies, you're already grown up, Mary-Jane is in her year 5 while Sammy is in year 4…. I'm proud of the both of you”, “thanks mum but mum you're not telling us the important thing and that is your health… what is the cure mum or how do we manage it?” Mary-Jane asked, “I am only preparing your mind for what I'm about to tell you Mary-Jane …. There is no cure for cancer and I've done chemotherapy and all sort of things, I have even prayed and the doctor s have tried their best on me…. Pastor matt has conducted a lot of prayer sessions because of me but all of these are to no avail… I have less than 24 hours to live on this earth except God says otherwise…” Mary-Jane stood up from where she sat and walked to the window, “you're not going to die mum, I believe in God, he's not a wicked God mum… he can't take you away from us at this time…. No mum…. you're going nowhere “ Mary-Jane said and stormed out of the room, Rachel couldn't help herself anymore as she broke into tears, “Sammy , promise me that you would help Mary-Jane to understand what the love of God means” Rachel said, “mum, I can't promise you that…. Because I don't understand the kind of love that someone could claim for another yet hurt the other person” Sammy said, “all things work together for good….”, “no mum, this is not for our good… how do you want us to survive mum without you”, “anyone can do without anyone but no one can do without God” Rachel said, “mum, we don't know any of your family members, we don’t even know dad” Sammy said, “in my room, under the shelf you would find a box filled with letters, I wrote it for you and your sister. I pray the both of you would be able to understand” Rachel said, Sammy hugged her tightly, “I pray you don't leave us mum, I pray with my heart that you wouldn’t leave us alone”, I pray so too son” Rachel said.
