Two weeks later,
Pastor Matt held the letter in his hand, he just received the letter from a church in the states asking him to come and overseer a big church in Manchester in the states. He was going to be paid a huge sum of money with education allowance for his two kids and a good job for his wife. The plane ticket was there in the envelope but something wasn't right about this. He had been praying about this for years now and God has finally answered his prayers yet it didn't seem right. Mrs. Kate matt, his wife entered his office, “hello dear, how are you doing?” she asked, “I'm good Dear, this is the letter I just received” he gave her the letter and she read it, “it’s a lie dear!” she shouted happily, “thank Jesus , he has answered our prayers….” She said, “Dear, I don’t feel good about this… I think we should pray about it before saying yes”, Kate’s mood became sour immediately , “what is it dear?..... this is an answer to our prayers and you're saying let us pray about it…. A lot of people would jump at this opportunity…. If you know you can’t call them, I will call them for you but one thing is sure… I would not lose this opportunity “ she said sternly, “is it wrong if we pray about it?” he asked, “yes Dear , because this is from God, praying about it only means we don’t trust God” she said, “okay then, I'll call them” Kate smiled happily, “call them now Dear” she said and gave him his phone that was on the table. Pastor Matt dialed the number on the letter and gave his consent immediately, “God is good dear” Kate said, “umm…. That reminds me, what of Rachel ‘s kids that are with us…. How are we going to take them because the contract only includes the four of us” pastor Matt said, Kate hissed immediately , “you can be very annoying darling , we don't have money to sponsor one person to travel out not to talk of the two kids….. we would announce in church and I'm sure someone would take them in” Kate said, “oh! Darling , that is a bit cruel, what if they don’t take care of them?” Pastor Matt said, “that's not our problem anymore as long as we've done our own part as Christians” Kate said, Pastor Matt knew he couldn’t win any argument when it came to his wife so he decided to keep mute. Kate collected the letter and read it again, “Champ would be very glad Dear, he said he wanted to study forensic science or neuroscience but they are not offering it anywhere in Nigeria so he would be delighted to study it there” Kate said, “that's true” Pastor Matt said, his mind was on Mary-Jane and Sammy , he was thinking of what he could do to take care of those children, he couldn’t take them along but he wanted them to be very comfortable. Kate talked of buying clothes, bags and shoes that they would take along with them, Pastor Matt just nodded his head as she spoke because his mind was not there with her but on the kids. If only he knew how to take those children with him.
